Interventional Cardiology Procedures

About Dr. Kamal Kassem, M.D.
  • Training: Internal Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati; Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at the University of Louisville; Interventional Cardiology training at McLaren.
  • Specializes in: Complex and high-risk PCI, left main PCI, rotational and CSI atherectomy, Impella-supported high-risk PCI, and advanced peripheral vascular intervention.
  • Academic Focus: Medical education, mentorship, and cardiovascular research.

Dr. Kamal Kassem is an interventional cardiologist dedicated to providing advanced, patient-centered cardiovascular and vascular care. He performs complex and high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions, including left main PCI, rotational and CSI atherectomy, and Impella-supported high-risk PCI.

He also performs advanced peripheral vascular interventions, including DVT thrombectomy, pulmonary embolism thrombectomy, and treatment of peripheral arterial disease such as chronic total occlusions of the superficial femoral artery (SFA).

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kassem is actively involved in academic medicine, educating internal medicine residents, family medicine residents, and cardiology fellows. He has authored more than 15 peer-reviewed publications, including work published in Circulation and JACC.
